Hello!

My name is Emma Drake and I am so excited to be attending this year's Open Education Conference. During my time as Vice President and President & CEO of the University of Prince Edward Island Student Union I worked directly with on campus leaders and the provincial government to push for dedicated funding for Open Educational Resources. Our efforts were successful in February 2020, when PEI became the first province east of Quebec to receive provincial funding dedicated to OERs. I will be speaking about this experience during the "Ask Student OER Champions: Advocacy & Allyship" session Wednesday at 5pm ET. Hope to see you there!

I currently work as the Member Relations Officer with the Canadian Alliance of Student Associations, which is a federal advocacy group for Canadian post-secondary students. I am also currently a full-time student pursuing a Masters in Public Policy and Administration at Carleton University.
