I’m an interdisciplinary educator and visual artist who is passionate about social justice. My research looks at the connections between community-engaged arts, multimodal literacies, visual communication and feminist public pedagogy, with a focus on exploring how underserved communities amplify their voices through creative acts of resistance, whether it be in the form of art, literature or media production. I have a PhD in Education – Language, Culture and Teaching and a specialized graduate diploma in Language and Literacy Education, both from York University. I completed a Master of Education with a specialization in Digital Technologies at Ontario Tech University. I currently teach graduate and undergraduate courses in the Faculty of Education at Ontario Tech University, located in the city of Oshawa in Canada.
