Josh Is an Open Educational Resources (OER) practitioner and advocate, having been involved in open textbook publication, course design, and research. He has worked on OER grants, published open journal articles, and presented at conferences across the nation focused on Instructional Design, Open Educational Resources, and Accessibility. He is a leader of the
Zero Textbook Cost initiative at Hillsborough Community College. He is also on the
ZTC workgroup for the FLVC. His work on
Composing Ourselves and Our World: A Guide to First Year Writing earned him a 2018-2019 ACHE/ACCS OER grant. He is a founder of the
Alabama Open Publishing House at Troy University. He helped publish the first open textbook in Alabama with the
Open Textbook Network. He assisted in the design and development of over 100 Open Educational Resources courses while working as the coordinator of the
Troy University Textbook Initiative (Open Educational Resources).
