Jeannette Ekstrøm
Technical University of Denmark, DTU Library Librarian / Senior Information Officer
Denmark
An active, practicing Librarian from DTU, Denmark.
Most of my tasks evolve teaching, teaching planning, and outreach - from support to literature searching over to support on publication, databases, visualizations and other relevant tools. I have all through my career been a big fan of developing new skills, and competencies needed in my work, both now and in the future. I like to learn with others, and I try hard to share knowledge, whenever possible.
Data and skills in this regard have been on my own 'to learn' agenda for a while now. And I recently became a Certified Library Carpentry Instructor, and I am a strong believer in open access to information and Open Science is of great importance in order to gain the knowledge and know-how we need. I believe Librarians and Staff in University libraries do have an obligation to keep themselves updated on new tools, skills, methods, policies in regards to the work and the assignments we are providing support within, both when it comes to students as well as researchers and ADMIN colleagues.
