Looking for a way to teach others how to successfully implement OER into a course, department or program? Got OER? A SUCCESS Model for Implementing Open Educational Resources walks participants through this process by:

  • introducing the OER SUCCESS model and how it is used to train faculty, staff, and students to implement the five R's of OER,
  • exploring model components to discover how it reinforces OER implementation based on course content, teaching style, and student needs, and
  • showcasing a few of the model's course activities to assess how it can be customized for a variety of users.

The OER SUCCESS model is made up of seven components that may be utilized for guiding individuals in locating, evaluating, selecting, customizing, implementing and potentially publishing OER. The model is currently applied as a three-course, continuous learning series that corresponds to a grant-supported, university wide OER initiative where participants earn a stipend and micro-credentials for completion.

If you want to know how to facilitate OER that is "Open for All" using a streamlined approach, then this presentation is for you.

After participating in this session, attendees will be able to:
  • Explain how the OER SUCCESS module may be utilized as a basis for continuous learning
  • Utilize the OER SUCCESS model to develop continuous learning opportunities for OER implementation
  • Implement the OER SUCCESS model strategies to increase the effective use of OER in a learning environment
  • Customize OER based on the OER SUCCESS model components
