In this session, viewers will be introduced to and walked through a new accessibility evaluation rubric coming out of Affordable Learning Georgia, designed for open educational resource creators and users. With this tool, users can evaluate their course resources for open access, digital access, and pedagogical access, with the goal of improving the accessibility of open educational resources from multiple perspectives.
This rubric is designed similar to common online course evaluation rubrics, except it is specifically detailed toward OER and their accessibility. Intended for instructors who are either developing OER and need help making their work accessible or are evaluating OER for use in their classes and need to determine if the work is accessible already, the goal of this project is to help minimize the design quality issue in OER at the course and instructor level.
After participating in this session, attendees will be able to use the OER Accessibility Evaluation Rubric to evaluate their created and/or adopted open educational resources for accessibility
