Teachers today are dealing with technological tools which allow them to express themselves to the fullest. There are many e-Learning authoring tools, H5P is one among them. As part of Open Education 4 better World Project(OE4BW) a free self-paced time bound online course "Creating H5P Interactive Content in Moodle" is developed with OER. This course is an attempt to contribute towards achieving sustainable development goal 4 : Quality Education which says - By 2030, substantially increase the supply of qualified teachers.
In the present Edu-tech era, teaching learning environments demand a teacher to be pro-active and embracing the new technological advancements that benefit them as well as students. More so in the present post-pandemic situation. In this adverse pandemic situations many institutions, teachers adopted the new normal and teaching with technology in a virtual learning environment (VLE). In the VLE there are many other aspects that demanded for attention and one of them is learner engagement and the other learner interaction (with teacher, with learning material, with peers). Learner interaction is an important factor of any mode of learning, especially in the e-learning experience (Bernard et al., 2009).
Therefore, the skills to use various ed-tech tools have become essential for conducting/ running an effective and engaging online/virtual sessions / courses.
The National Educational Policy of India, NEP 2020 also emphasized the usage of technology in education, online content repository creation, and more importance to competency based formative assessment to promote higher order thinking skills.
Open Education for a Better world has provided a great opportunity to come forward and provide courses to achieve positive changes in the society through education. The course designed (Creating H5P Interactive Content in Moodle) is an attempt to educate teachers about the creative usage of open source tool H5P to create engaging interactive content in an open source learning management system Moodle.
Also striving to make the course as accessible as possible so that it can be accessed by as many educators as possible.
