Open Education Resource (OER) is more than just free resources to students. OER provides an outlet for instructors to create and show their teaching via YouTube without running into trouble with a publishing company. After several attempts to create a mini entrepreneurship course using published content, I decided to use OER content to build an entrepreneurship 101 series via YouTube. Check out the series from the following link
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P8hq_DQ7rNc&list=PL3jim5h0iUgB4VbxbQmyx7lzbJReft93iThis session will take the audience through my experience creating YouTube mini-course videos from an OER textbook, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation Toolkit. Audience members will build an outline of their mini-course and learn about the different tools to record and upload their mini-course to YouTube. The first step will be to find the appropriate OER content. The second will be to build an outline of the mini-course from OER content. The third step will select the tech tools they will need to record their teaching, edit their video, and upload on YouTube.
The session's intent is for audience members to build on their instructional design skills, technology skills, promote their teaching to people all across the world, and, more importantly, promote OER content.
After participating in this session, attendees will be able to:
- Audience members will utilize the techniques of instructional design to develop their own OER mini-course
- Audience members will examine technology tools to create their own OER mini-course
