In the spring of 2020, Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) entered the publishing arena with the introduction of Open SLCC, an iteration of the Pressbook EDU publishing platform. New to publishing, the Open Team researched, collaborated, developed, and adapted a structure necessary to support faculty authored projects. While our work continues to evolve, this presentation will address what we’ve learned thus far.
In this presentation, we will share lessons learned, best practices, and practical strategies to support faculty in a small OER publishing program. Future developments, including a universal accessibility checklist, professional development resources, and adoption tracking strategies, will also be discussed.
